“Shivers” performed by Olipage and remixed by Jack Shaft

An unconventional encounter created this unpredictable collaboration between a folk singer and a dance music producer

Olipage, the French Canadian Twitch streamer, and Jack Shaft, the dance music producer from Brooklyn, have never physically met. Although, that did not stop them from meeting on social media and making this dance remix of Ed Sheeran’s newest single Shivers.

In November 2021, Olipage was challenged by his Twitch Community while he was live to play the song Shivers by Ed Sheeran when he had never even heard the song before. His first performance came out so great that he decided to share it on Instagram. That’s where Jack found Olipage and immediately decided to do a remix of his performance. The result was so impressive that they both said “Ok, let’s send this song to a European label”.

This banger made from the collaboration of two complete strangers was made with an authenticity that anyone will hear and feel whether it’s playing on the radio or in the dance clubs of Berlin. A European Distribution deal will only be the first start for this dance remix as Olipage and Jack Shaft both have plans for this song once it is released whether it is a music video or more surprises!

Artist Bio of Olipage

Olipage is what happens when an engineer quits work to make music.

With a memorable performance at Rockfest and a Canadian Tour behind him, Olipage is the one-man looping machine of Montreal. Often described as the "augmented reality" version of a singer songwriter due to his experience as an AV engineer, his songs and performances are a meeting point between folk, rap, comedy and the sleep deprivation from late night coffees that fuel his lyrics. Greatly influenced by the works of Muse, James Blake and Marc Rebillet, Olipage’s vision is to inspire anyone feeling “out of phase” and longing for greater things to let go of fear and accomplish their dreams.

Olipage is now releasing his « Caffeine Addiction » project in which he exposes the influence of caffeine on his creative process notably through the music video of « Shove It » which has been well-received by music blogs such as TalkAboutPopMusic, FVMusicBlog and "Music & Fashion Blog".
